E-commerce accounting is a specialised field covering the correct recording and taxation of sales, commissions, shipping, returns and payment provider transactions for businesses selling through marketplaces and their own websites. Because of high transaction volumes, a standard accounting routine is often not enough.
At Ankara Muhasebeci we regularly match marketplace reports with bank transactions so you can see your profitability by product and by channel.
Who is it for?
It suits sole traders and companies selling on marketplaces such as Trendyol, Hepsiburada and Amazon or on their own online stores, as well as brands selling online to customers abroad.
How we work
- Channel analysis: We map the platforms you sell on and your payment flows.
- Integration: We make the invoice and report flow regular and automated.
- Monthly reconciliation: We match marketplace payouts with bank and invoice records.
- Reporting: We share revenue, commission and net profit by channel.
Questions about this service
01 Do I need a company to sell online from home?
If you sell regularly, you must register as a taxpayer. Tradesman exemption is possible under certain conditions, but marketplaces usually require a sole proprietorship or company registration.
02 Can I deduct marketplace commissions as expenses?
Yes. Commission and service invoices issued by the marketplace are recorded as expenses and their VAT can be deducted.
03 Do I pay VAT on sales abroad?
Export deliveries that meet the conditions are exempt from VAT. Careful documentation is required for micro-export and e-export.
