Detailed breakdown

Month Gross SGK employee Unemployment Cumulative base Income tax Stamp duty Net Employer cost

Net includes the minimum wage income and stamp tax exemption.

How is it calculated?

  1. Employee social security (14%) and unemployment insurance (1%) are deducted from gross pay up to the contribution ceiling.
  2. The remainder is the income tax base; tax is calculated on the cumulative year-to-date base using the wage tariff.
  3. Income tax and stamp duty on the minimum wage portion are exempt.
  4. Stamp duty is 0.759% of gross pay above the minimum wage.
  5. Employer cost adds the employer social security and unemployment shares to gross pay, less the selected Treasury discount.
