How is it calculated?
- Severance equals 30 days of gross pay (including regular benefits) per full year of service, with remaining months and days prorated.
- Gross pay is capped at the severance ceiling in force on the termination date.
- Only stamp duty is deducted from severance; no income tax or social security.
- The notice period is 2, 4, 6 or 8 weeks depending on service length; notice pay is not capped.
- Income tax (on the cumulative base) and stamp duty are deducted from notice pay.
- Severance requires at least one year of service and a qualifying termination reason.
