How is it calculated?
- For commercial leases, the tenant business withholds tax on gross rent and pays it via the withholding return.
- Net rent = gross rent × (1 − rate); gross rent = net rent ÷ (1 − rate).
- No withholding applies to residential leases or when the tenant is not a withholder.
- VAT on rent, if any, is calculated separately.
